Our Camino Diary follows the adventures of Brett and Karen, as they walked the pilgrimage of St.James, from St.Jean Pied de Port in France, across the Pyrenees mountains, through the Navarre and Rioja regions, across the Meseta, and through Castille y León, and Galicia into Santiago de Compostela (540+ miles / 800+ km) on the journey of a lifetime, walking every single step of the way.
Filled with fun-packed moments, spiritual thoughts, photographs, and more, this is Our Camino Diary.
On the 29th April 2019, my wife (Karen) and I made the trek to St.Jean-Pied-de-Port, and the start of our adventure. We invited friends and family to follow us as we journeyed from St.Jean-Pied-de-Port in France, through the Pyrenees mountains into Spain, through the Navarre and Rioja regions, across the Meseta, and further on to Santiago de Compostela.
mummikins on Amazon wrote:I really enjoyed the diary and description of each day along Brett and Karen’s pilgrimage… I had no idea about the Camino and felt a spiritual connection the more I read. I could empathise with the physical challenge and the quiet peace of walking on this journey, and the joy of achieving their goal at the end. Would highly recommend.
Stephanie Leach on Goodreads wrote:I found this book to be quite addictive and had to discipline myself to put it down. When I finished it I was so bereft that I started reading it again and I'm loving it just as much! Ideal for anyone planning a Camino pilgrimage as it covers every eventuality you'd think of, including many you wouldn't!
This is an inspiring travelogue of my good friends' journey along the Camino Frances. It is a beautiful book filled with the hardships, struggles and little moments of reflection and joy that made this trip memorable for both Brett and Karen, and for those reading these precious memoirs. It is a book that takes you along with all the other pilgrims and allows you to glimpse the magic of this journey. It will make you want to walk the Camino yourself and experience the journey in your own special way. Brett and Karen write honestly about the pain, suffering and boredom they sometimes endured but also about what they noticed, talked about and thought about on those long days walking for hour after hour. The only questions that remains after reading this book is "When can we start?"
